Stephen G. Schwartz, MD  


Stephen G. Schwartz, MD is assistant professor of clinical ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and medical director and division chief of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Retina Center at Naples in Naples, FL. Before joining the faculty at Bascom Palmer, he served as assistant professor of ophthalmology and program director at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia Campus, in Richmond, VA. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and surgery of the vitreous, retina, and macula, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinal vascular disease, and ocular trauma. He is a graduate of Cornell University and New York University School of Medicine. He completed ophthalmology residency training at New York University School of Medicine, and retina fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine.
